July During Covid
The first part of July was rough. My whole side where I fell while mountain biking was pretty damaged and painful. Also, Davis got some kind of virus that made it hard to breathe, so we had a big covid scare and had to get him tested and then quarantine, but it turned out it was not covid and so that was a relief. We went to Winter Park/Granby three times though and each time was lovely and wonderful and I will put that in a different post. As the month went on, we all felt better and had some good times. My mom and Paul came back and closed on an amazing downtown condo!!!! This is so exciting as it means she will be here more often hopefully and has an amazing location we can share! I got to spend lots of time with her. We went up to to tour the condo and had dinner with Paul's kiddos. We went up with the boys to help move some stuff and show them the sweet pad. Mom and I hiked Bear Creek while Davis had mtb practice. Mom and Paul came to see Davis race a local xc race in Highlands Ranch. We also had mom and Paul over one Sunday night for dominoes and grilling which was a lot of fun. Another benefit of Paul relocating with Mom downtown, is that we got his hot tub! It is now living on our back porch and we love it SOOOOOO much. I use it any time I can get the neighborhood kids out of my backyard, lol. We also have our bathroom remodel done and it is so beautiful! That will get a new post too. Suzy and Jason are in our bubble and we spend lots of time with them. I did online Broadway Teacher's training in July and was so inspired and loved it. I wish I could have gone to New York in person, but this was still great. I also did the Drama Teacher's academy online teaching so I feel pretty prepared for whatever Covid throws at me teaching wise. I walk almost 5 miles every day and now that Holly Pool has opened, I've been taking the kids and doing laps myself. It's so good for my body now that it has healed from my latest fall (mostly).
We decided not to do anymore outdoor movie nights since Covid was going up, but as July has gone on, our numbers have gotten better. I spent most of July (and now the first few days of August) super stressed about what to do about sending Davis back to his big public high school. I still haven't decided though I've been emailing the district and watching the board meetings. Meanwhile the kids have been riding their bikes and playing nerf and hanging out with their friends outside and at the pool. Outside is the life.
