Let the Adventure Begin...

Birthday Outing

Image
Ben and I had little birthday outing last night. His birthday is the Ides of March and mine is Pi day and so we decided to co-celebrate. We had to do it early as we leave for Vietnam on Thursday night, so we decided last night was a perfect date. We booked a table for six at Nocturne and had dinner with Suzy, Jason, Ben, Kara. Then after dinner we went down to the bar and hung out with my friends, Richard, Paul, Christin, Bill, Tate and his date Lisa. The band was great, the cocktails delicious and I really enjoyed being social with my friends. We have really made some good friends over the last two years and I am grateful for them.

The Battle of Long Island Revolutionary War Reenactment!

Samuel felt well enough this week to participate in the most amazing event. The fifth grades of several schools all met at Bear Creek Park to participate in a revolutionary war reenactment. The kids have been studying the American Revolution in social studies all year and this was the culminating activity. Samuel said it was the best day of school ever, possibly the best day of his life and now he loves social studies best of all. So there is that. I had to work, but mom was in town and drove out to watch Samuel participate, take pictures and each lunch with him. I was so grateful!
