Rainy Day Fun

Image
I am too busy to blog. Martha is here visiting and I am spending every extra second working on decorating ideas for the new house and dealing with Life. We did get away on Sunday evening though. We didn't have our sitter for a regular date night so we met up with Cheris and Rob and Graham and Violet and Katie and Soren at the Southpark Meadows. The kids played on the playground while we drank margaritas and ate Mexican food on the patio. It was great. And then it started to pour down rain. We ran for cover and tried to pull our tables under some cover. The kids could care less. The had the best time ever. And we had the best time ever watching them. I took a video and will put it up in the next couple of days. Here's a picture for now.

Big news

We've been good. I finished the Harry Potter book. It's great! I'm sad it's over and I'm waiting patiently for Michael to finish it so we can talk about it. Sam has been to the doctor this week. His thumb has gotten infected from where he got a blister from sucking it. I have to put cream on it and then put a sock over his hand so he doesn't suck the cream off. He's not terribly happy with me about the whole thing. He'll be okay though. The creams are already helping on all his wounds. Michael and I visited San Marcos this weekend and stopped by our new to-be house. That's right. We made the decision to move into the house on the ranch adjoining the Davis ranch in San Marcos. Michael wants to move in by Christmas though I'm thinking we'll be there at the beginning of the year. We took a hundred pictures. Of course, I forgot to take a picture of the front of it, so we'll have to do that next weekend and I'll post it then.

Beach Trip

We went to the beach this past weekend. We had a lot of fun. Port Aransas is so near and dear to my heart and it makes me happy to go there every time. This trip was especially fun because we went with several good friends. Rob and Cheris were there with Violet and Graham. They stayed in a condo with Nancy and Chris and Evie. Katie and Soren stayed with us in our condo. We tested fate by taking this trip with four two year olds and two infants. People looked at us a little funny when we walked into a restaurant and announced that we were seven adults and six highchairs please. We spent time at the beach and the pool and we each took turns making yummy dinners for the whole group. We went to town and souvenier shopped and Evie got to take a trip the ER for a finger injury. On the last day it was a bit rainy so we headed to the aquarium. It was so much fun to watch the toddlers watch the fish and dolphins. It's hard work to travel with children, but it was a lot of fun to

Michael is Certified!

Michael passed his last test! He is now a certified Cisco engineer. He has his CCNA and his CCSP. This is what we have worked on in Phoenix and then here in Texas for the last six months. I am so proud of him. We are going to party this weekend!

sick

I'm sick. I've got some sort of head cold I think. It's a total bummer because it seems I just got over a two week long head cold three weeks ago. I guess it's payback because it had been about a year before that one since I'd had a cold. The boys don't seem as sick which is a good thing. They both have runny noses, but that's it. And I'm single parenting again this week. Davis is having a VERY hard time of it. He wants his daddy and he doesn't understand why I won't go get him. He is acting out in all sorts of frustrating ways. The good news is that we are going to the beach this weekend with some excellent friends. We leave on Thursday and come back on Monday. I'm really looking forward to it. We also had a nice weekend with the family and an excellent dinner at Vespaio with friends. So I can't complain too much there. There are also some other plans brewing, but I'm not quite ready to post about them yet. I'll let y

Dropped the baby

Sam learned to pull up today. I went in to get him after morning nap and he was standing up holding on to the side of his crib. I was so proud! He’s getting so big so fast. He’s crawling and babbling and now pulling up. And when I took him downstairs and put him on the floor, he promptly crawled over to his busy box and pulled himself up to standing again. When we go upstairs for the next nap I set Sam on the floor of my office with some toys and went in his room to try and figure out how to lower his crib so he doesn’t fall out if he stands up. I’m worried about this. I left the gate at the top of the stairs open so Davis could follow us up. Davis has gotten good at shutting the gate when he comes up. So, I’m in Sam’s room working on the crib and I hear Davis say, “Don’t fall!” and then hear bump, bump, bump. My heart stops and I run to the stairs just wondering which child. When I get there I see Sam on the third stair down. He fell down the stairs. He starts crying and
