Initial Post

Hi there. We're in Tempe right now while Michael is training to become an engineer. It's a four month stint and it's a good thing because it is something that Michael really wants to do and that we are hoping will lead to a great career path. It's a hard thing because we have two small children and no support system out here. Michael leaves for work in the morning on his vespa and I look around this tiny apartment at my two tiny boys and try to figure out how to keep them happy all day long.
I don't have a lot to say in this blog. To be honest, I'm not completely familiar with how blogs work. But I did think that maybe I could use this to keep you all filled in on the small things that happen day to day with the Walter Clan.
For instance, today we went for Sam's two month well visit. We found a pediatrician by asking another mom at story time last week. He is doing well. He's 13 pounds three ounces and 23 inches. His head is huge. His weight is in the 90th% and his height is in the 60th%. The doctor still recommended that we get an MRI done on his sacral dimple, but was pleased that he is bearing weight on his legs and says that it is a good sign.
Davis is doing okay as well. He has a cold and a nasty sounding cough, but seems happy anyway. He is still playing Linus as he drags his lovie around everywhere. He is growing and talking and developing such a personality. He learns at least five new words everyday. Today he learned to blow the seeds off of a dandelion. He calls them "flower bubbles". He also learned how to stomp off in to his room and slam the door. Argh. That was a little soon for that lesson to be learned, but he IS almost two. He has in the last few days enjoyed several telephone conversations and actually made some sense!
That's all for now since Sam is screaming, Davis' choo choo movie is over and Michael is due home soon. Cheers!

I LOVE "flower bubbles"! I can't think of a better way to describe a dandelion.
