Stonewall- Memorial Day Weekend

We drove up to Stonewall on Saturday morning and met our friends Cheris and Rob and their kids there. We unpacked and rocked on the porch and then headed into Fredericksburg for lunch at Hondo's. The kids played in the courtyard while we sipped jalepenos margaritas and then we all ate lunch.
After lunch we drove back toward Stonewall and stopped at Becker Vineyards for a wine tasting. It was lots of fun and the kids enjoyed playing on the grounds. Michael bought us a bottle of dry rose and we sat on the porch for a bit and then we drove back to the house.
More screen porch rocking and sipping and music playing occurred and the kids ran around the yard with butterfly nets, played games and watched a movie. I made us dinner and then we all played Telestrations, a new game that is pretty hilarious. The kids didn't go to sleep till nine and I followed shortly behind.
Sunday morning we had a pancake feast and then every one went on a hike through the fields to the river. We saw lots of beautiful fields of wildflowers and deer and a huge ant colony. When we got back and rinsed off , we drove into town to attend the Crawfish festival. It was super duper fun. We bought Davis a new tie dye shirt and the kids had a great time in the kids section sliding down a huge inflatable slide. Michael and I shared two pounds of crawfish and two shiners and we sat in the pavilion listening to some fun cajun music. We bought the kids some rubber band guns with a target that they love and then we headed back to the house. We played around for a couple of hours and then headed home. It was a wonderful quick vacation and we loved getting to spend time with some of our best friends. The stonewall house is so peaceful and there is always a breeze up on that hill. Cheris took some great pictures as usual and sent them to me so I could put a few on the blog. Thanks Cheris!
