Southern Caribbean Cruise on the Celebrity Summit Days 1 and 2

The morning after Christmas we woke up at the crack of dawn, drove to the airport, flew to Houston and then spent the entire day at the airport trying again and again to fly to San Juan, Puerto Rico. After two broken planes and 8 hours, we finally flew and landed in San Juan around midnight. We took a taxi to the Hyatt House San Juan, which we had booked with points and fell immediately asleep. The kids are great travelers and handled the delays with grace. It helped that I had booked both flights with points and had upgraded us to first class. We were able to hang out in the United Lounge while we waited and the seats were big enough for the kids to sleep on our way to San Juan.
The next morning we woke up late, had a terrible breakfast at a much picked over buffet at the hotel and then took a taxi to the cruise terminal a few blocks away. Embarkation was easy peasy and we were on the ship in no time.
This was our first Celebrity Cruise and we were very impressed. There were so many small touches that made our experience great. The ship didn't ever feel crowded. They handed us champagne as we boarded and we made our way to an ample, uncrowded buffet where we sat by a window and enjoyed a lovely, healthy lunch.
That afternoon we explored the ship, signed the kids up for the kids club, signed up for the spa pass, and played in the pool. In the evening we all went to dinner in the main dining room which was very elegant and then dropped off the kids at the kids' club and headed off to the bar.
