Montreal Jazz Fest

We flew to Montreal on Thursday, June 29. We got in around 3:30 and made quick time of the airport, having gone through the easiest customs ever in Toronto on the way. Traffic was horrendous, but we made it to the Hyatt and checked into a nice suite with a beautiful view of the festival. My mom arrived almost right after us. Tiffany and Keith came in a bit later and we all went to explore the festival and have dinner. It was raining on and off and misty, but we did get to hear some good music while we ate.

The next day we explored Montreal. We walked through the rain to the Old Town, stopping at the Notre Dame and the waterfront. All of sudden it began pouring down rain. We took shelter in the maze building and then made a run for it to lunch. We found a nice place with delicious moules and frites. After lunch, Mom and Michael and the boys and I went to Chinatown and then on to jazz-fest to explore while Kade and Tiff and Keith stayed in Old Town. The rain let up and the evening was marvelous. We heard some amazing talent and had a great evening.

The next morning, we went to the Amtrak station and headed for the short 50 minute train ride across the border to Rouses Point, NY and to begin our week at the Tyler Place.
