Happy St. Patrick's Day!

We had a very nice weekend. Michael and I had planned to go the renaissance fair this weekend, but at the last minute, we decided to go to the St. Paddy's Day parade and fair instead. We loaded up the babes and had an early breakfast at our new favorite place, The Wildflower Bread Company. Then we headed up to Phoenix for the parade. We got there early and staked a good spot. We found some shade! Then we sat and waited and waited. Our shade moved away from us. We chatted with our neighbors. And waited and waited. Finally the parade came! And stopped. And we waited and waited. Turned out there was a medical emergency. Probably heat exhaustion. We had record breaking heat this weekend. It got up to 98 degrees here in Tempe. We sweltered and waited and finally the rest of the parade came. It was pretty tame. I only saw two floats and one marching band. The rest were politicians in cars and city service people. Davis really liked the firetrucks and mounted police officers.
We cut out early and headed for the fair. The fair was big and had lots of stages and seemed really fun. We headed straight for the guiness booth. We both helped ourselves and then pushed the stroller back to the kid section. We bought Davis some tickets and let him play. He had a really good time, but it was soooooo hot. Sam was melting in his seat and I didn't dare sling him for fear of overheating him. We had to cut our fun short and come home. It's too bad it was so hot, because I think the fair would have been really fun otherwise.
We also explored two new malls this weekend. We hit the Arizona Mills mall right next to our house. It wasn't really our kind of mall, but Michael found a great barber and cut all of his hair off. He came out with a smooth head. He looks great. Then yesterday we went to the ooh-la-la Scottsdale fashion Mall. It was pretty nice. They had a Tiffany's and a Williams-Sonoma and all these fancy not-usually-at-the-mall stores. They had these awesome playhouses on display. We loved the pirate ship, but it costs over $50,000. Wow. You can check out the link here. Architecturekids There was also a fun play area for Davis. We ended the day with a delicious dinner at Z Tejas. It turns out our west sixth street restaurant has a twin in Scottsdale. It was nice to have some Austin flavor. Yum.
We also managed to fit in a trip to the park and half a day for Michael to study. No rest for the weary this past weekend! Maybe we'll go to the renaissance festival next weekend. Stay tuned. Love ya!

Hey!! I recognize that stroller---don't you just love it? Tell me again which cupholder you bought. I definitely need one. And how does Davis do in the small, second seat in the back? Haven't tried Miles in that one yet.

Glad you guys had so much fun!
