Rainbow Party and Visit from the Arkansas Davis Clan
Yesterday we woke up, worked out, cleaned house, grocery shopped, made a potluck dish of roasted vegetables and went out to lunch at Casa Maria where the service was awful, but the food was good. Once we got all that out of the way, we drove up to Austin for Violet's 7th Birthday party. It was a rainbow theme and Cheris did a great job with it. They had a nail painting station with rainbow colors, a rainbow friendship bracelet station, a color the rainbow station, and a rainbow relay race. Davis and Sam had a blast and we enjoyed getting to spend a couple of hours with Cheris and Rob.
We drove straight from there to my parent's house where we were having a potluck/karaoke party to celebrate the visit of my Uncle Mike, Aunt Char, Cousin Lane and his wife Lissa and their new baby Belle. Everyone was already there when we arrived. Uncle Larry, Aunt Joyce, Manie and her boyfriend Sean, Lilly, Hank, my sister and her family and my grandparents. This was our first time to meet Belle and she is absolutely precious. She has beautiful eyes and a sweet smile and was happy in my arms for a long time.
We ate a delicious meal and had lots of yummy cocktails and then we all went to the big living room room and turned on the karaoke machine. We stuck the boys and Kade in the office with a movie and proceeded to have a great time, keeping the boys up way too late. The girl cousins did a great version of Bohemian Rhapsody, I harmonized with my sister and mama and we all had so much fun. I love getting to spend time with my sister. The Davis side of this family sure can sing!
We plan to head out with the family again after church today in Gruene if the weather stays okay. It's cold right now and raining so we shall see. After an early afternoon in Gruene we plan to come home and host our friends for a "first half of the Superbowl" party. I'm making beans and rice, green pumpkin seed mole, chips, guacamole and vegan banana oat cookies. We'll have a house full of friends and kids so it should be fun.
