Rear Ended

I dropped off Michael at the car rental place this morning and then headed toward the railroad tracks. As I looked ahead, I saw school bus had stopped at the tracks and put out it's stop sign. The car in front of me slammed on it's brakes to stop. I slammed on my brakes to stop and stopped before I hit him. The large van behind me slammed on his brakes, but not soon enough. He hit me with a solid, loud jolt. He was a very nice man who hugged me and asked me if I was okay. Immediately my neck was sore and I was in shock, but I was surprised to see that my car was only slightly damaged. The back bumper was scraped down to the metal and will need to be replaced, but wasn't even dented. The front of the van that hit me was much more damaged. The bumper was curled in so far that it wasn't drivable. Yay for the Subaru! It is tough! The Ford F250 had much more damage.
I only hope the claims process is not horrible. Also, my back and neck have continued to seize up and become more painful as the day goes on. I've made a chiropractic appointment for tomorrow afternoon just to make sure it is all right. I am desperate to have it be nothing as I am just getting over the wrist issue. I feel like I keep going from medical issue to medical issue. Sigh.
I should focus on the positive. My car is totally driveable, and also apparently a bad-ass. My children were not in the car. Other than a sore neck, I am fine. I have insurance. They have insurance. It was a very minor accident.
Still- for the record- and this blog is definitely my personal record- it happened and so shall be recorded here.

Ugh! So sorry! I'm glad you're going to the chiro. Take a warm bath tonight and then ice your neck for 10 minutes.
