Georgetown Christmas Market

Last weekend we went to the Georgetown Christmas Market. I was really looking forward to this as Georgetown is a very picturesque and I have heard great things. It's about an hour away and we enjoyed the drive out even though Denver and Colorado is so very dry. We'd had only one snow this year and it was back in October. It's been unseasonably warm and so dry. That means the mountains and the trees are brown. But the sky is always beautiful here and the evergreens were still pretty.
We got to Georgetown and saw a little children's parade and ate roasted chestnuts and strudel and bratwurst. We walked along the street and looked in shops. And that was it. It was really disappointing. The kids were bored and so we loaded back into the car and came home.
I always like festivals and exploring our new state and being with family, but this particular outing was a bit of a let down. It might have been more fun with snow.
