Mom/Paul Denver Whirlwind Weekend

We had such an amazing weekend with my mama! She flew in on Wednesday, primarily to see Paul, but we got to see her too! On Wednesday evening, she came straight from the airport to my house and Paul met us here. I made dinner and we visited and had a lovely time after, sitting by the fire and sipping wine and catching up.
The next day, I picked mom up and we went to arapahoe county office to transfer dad's truck title to us. Such a wonderful gift and now Davis has his first car and we have a second vehicle! After that, we went into downtown Littleton and ate an AMAZING lunch at Cafe Terracotta. Then we jetted off to the mall to pick out swimsuits for our new year trip to the Dominican Republic.
The next day, Paul and Mom picked me up around noon and we drove over to the eye doctor for Paul to get a check up on our way to Boulder. As a wonderful surprise, we realized that his eye doctor was right next to Natura Obscura! Mom and I popped in and enjoyed while Paul had his appointment and then we all loaded into the car to drive on to Boulder. We picked up Paul's sister Julie and then went to the Russian Teahouse. I've always wanted to go, and it lived up to my expectations. It was really fun! We sat crosslegged with no shoes and ate small plates and sipped prosecco and had a merry time! After lunch we went to pick up mom's ring that she had commissioned. This was really special as she had turned her wedding ring into a new creation. She loved it and we were all emotional. It's gorgeous! Then we walked down to a restaurant called Med and met all the rest of Paul's family for a wonderful dinner. Sam and Davis and Michael drove up and met us there and all of Paul's family as well. Sam and Davis took good care of Paul's grandson Nico and played with him well. We were all so happy to get to know each other.
Saturday morning Michael and the boys and I had tickets to the Monet exhibit at the Denver Art Museum. It was a gorgeous exhibit and I loved it. Afterwards we stopped in the art space and the kids and Michael created art and had a splendid time. We finished just in time to meet Mom and Paul at Fire, which is a cool restaurant in the Art Hotel. We had a nice lunch with a scary moment when Sam accidentally got cheese in his salad. He survived though and we were able to continue on with our day. We went down to the Larimer Pop up Holiday market and shopped and then walked over to Christkindle market to munch on some pretzels, listen to polka and shop some more. As the afternoon wound down, we went back to get our car and then drove to the Alamo Drafthouse to attend a movie party for National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation, which we had never seen. The kids really enjoyed it, as did we all and it was a wonderful way to add even more Christmas Cheer to our weekend.
This morning (Sunday) we had one last festive meal! We drove up to the DTC and Yayas for a fabulous brunch buffet with all of Paul's family again. We greeted each other like long lost friends and had a great time. My favorite part was how happy both Paul and my mama were.
It was such fun to have my mom here for the weekend and to show her how Denver celebrates the season. And now we have six days until we see her again in Taos!
