Home Again, Home Again
We drove back to Colorado at the beginning of June. It was so nice to be home! My bathroom was in mid-remodel and our house was full of boxes and construction, but it was still good to be home. My bed and pillow were so comfy! We immediately rejoined the Danielsons and added one more family to our bubble in the neighborhood. Our three families spent the month of June playing outside together. We have game nights at each other's houses on various decks and patios. Mom and Paul were in town and we spent time with them as well. We went downtown to see real estate and ate out on patios twice, once at Sushi 47 and once downtown on Larimer. We had two outdoor movie nights where we watched Jungle Book and Parent Trap. Davis started riding with his team again and we also did a ride with Donovan when I got to hike with Tanya. Michael and I did a date bike ride at Waterton Canyon. Sam has gone back to tumbling on Tuesday nights. The kids meet three times a week in either our garage or deck with their D&D group and Isabelle is leading the campaign. The kids have set up all their paint on the porch and modify nerf guns and have epic battles. We ride our bikes to DeKoevend park and wade in the creek and have picnics. We ride our bikes to Andy's and get ice cream to go. Jason and Dane work in the house on the bathroom. As of yesterday- it is DONE! I will post pictures. Life is pretty good. I miss live music and concerts and festivals and shopping at the mall and Marshalls, but Colorado is LOVELY in June and being outside is a gift. I stay busy every day, walking Sookie and Holly and logging a daily five miles. We watched the entire three seasons of Stranger Things with the kids which was lots of fun. I bake and cook and clean and water my flowers and play with the kids or hang out with Suzy. Michael works and works and works and works. His job is so busy now. We are enjoying the "dance" in a very safe way before the "hammer" comes down again. Texas is not doing well right now. It is being locked down again. Last week, my grandma was diagnosed with Covid. She went to the hospital, but only for a few days before she was released home again. They said she had a mild case and the needed the hospital bed. We were so worried, but she is recovering, though very slowly. She is home and Mom and Paul drove down that day and have been helping as much as possible without being exposed. I am so grateful that she is okay. It did bring home the dangers of covid. Despite our socialization in our hood, we are being careful. We only socialize outside and we wash hands and mask up everywhere we go. It is a strange time, but we are so blessed and so lucky. We are just trying to live outside as much as possible soak up the ability to be outside and active and have some socialization while we can.
