Castles, Tastings and Dates, Oh My!

We had an action packed weekend. On Friday we went to a Calence "tailgating" party. We thought it was going to be family friendly, but it wasn't really so Sam and Davis and I played on a nearby playscape and watched Michael participate in various team sports from afar. He was wonderful by the way and led his team to victory.
Saturday we woke up relatively late (7AM) and went to breakfast at Wildflower Bread Company. Then we went to get Davis' hair cut. He looks awesome and got to sit in the race car while it was done. After that we drove to the mall where I got a pedicure and Michael shopped for luggage and played with the kids in Pottery Barn Kids.
After nap on Saturday, we loaded up and drove to the famed "Mystery Castle" here in Phoenix. We met Shana, Justin and Kalli there. It was pretty interesting and Davis and Kalli enjoyed spending time together.
Sunday morning we had breakfast at our other favorite breakfast joint, Harlow's and then Michael studied. After a couple of hours he came home and we loaded up and headed for the Scottsdale Culinary Festival. This was so much fun. The weather was perfect. Mid-seventies and a nice breeze. You walked around a gorgeous park and stopped at booths to taste all kinds of food. Sam slept in his back part of the stroller with only his little feet sticking out. Davis stayed in his stroller and Michael and I enjoyed tasting and people watching. We also checked out the beer garden and were issued little tasting mugs. We would wander to various stalls and I would taste hefeweizens and Michael would try the stouts. Davis had a little mug too that I would fill with water. It was hilarious though because he kept sticking his mug out the side of the stroller and yelling "more please!". People walking by would laugh 'cause it truly looked like he was downing beers with the rest of us.
Sunday night we had a sitter and went out on a double date with Shana and Justin. It was nice to get dressed up and head out on the town. We ate at a little place called Casey Moore's. It was good food and better company.
It was a nice weekend. It's hard to believe we only have three more here before we head back home to Texas. I've posted the pictures from the weekend on Flikr, but I'll put a couple here, because I just can't resist. Check out the ones on Flikr of our castle excursion and of Sam sleeping in the stroller. Cheers!
