A very busy week

Last week was really busy. We had events and plans for every day of the week. It was the week of Katie's birthday. We managed to celebrate this for four days.
On Wednesday evening we went out to a special birthday dinner at Chez Nous with Nancy. It was a girl's night out and we all dressed up and wore high heels. It was such a good time. I hadn't dressed up and had dinner with girl friends in so long. After dinner, Katie and I walked across the street to Coyote Ugly and had a drink. It was very interesting to be out in a bar. We decided to really make the night memorable and get up and dance on the bar. It was so fun to feel young and pretty. Little did the men who were ogling us know that this voluptuousness was due to breastfeeding!
The next day we had a well attended playgroup with our friends and then I cooked dinner for our friend Lucas who was in town and for Katie. I made barbeque chicken pot pie, cider coleslaw with shrimp and bacon and a roasted corn and tomato salad. It was yummy.
Friday was the Austin Mama Family Happy Hour at the Waterloo by our house. It's the third Friday of every month and it is so fun. Michael was studying that day and so was able to join us. We got to see lots of friend's and Davis got to play on the playground. Davis is starting to think that all restaurants should have playgrounds and when we grabbed lunch at Johnny Carino's the other day, I had to take him to every room before he would sit down in his high chair in order to convince him that this restaurant didn't have one.
Saturday Katie and I met for ice cream and a pedicure. It was our final celebration of her birthday and I was pretty sad for it to end. We got matching red polish and felt very elegant when we were done.
Sunday morning I made a special Father's Day breakfast of pancakes and bacon for Michael and then we headed off to church. Davis didn't want to go and screamed all the way there, "NO church, want to stay in the house." We left both him and Sam at the daycare and enjoyed the service. We picked the boys up and loaded them in the car and Davis screamed the whole way home, "NO go home, want to stay at the church with friends!". Ah, the joys of living with a two year old. Sunday night was our usual date night and Michael's cousin and our most beloved babysitter Erika showed up early and allowed us to make to Pirates of the Caribbean at Alamo Drafthouse. We were so excited to be able to have dinner and a movie at the same time! It's probably our favorite date night thing to do.
This week will be not quite as fun since Michael has to be in San Angelo all week for work. Even though he's been studying almost every night in his office, he's been able to have dinner with us and help put the kids to bed. I'm going to miss him a lot!
Oh and more Michael news, he has passed two of the five tests for his CCSP certification. He's been studying every evening and every weekend and hopefully will have the certification by August. He'll use his evenings in the hotel in San Angelo to work on the next one.
That's all for now. I've put up a picture of Nancy and Katie at our fancy dinner and a picture of Michael studying and working in his home office. Much love, Amber

OH MY GOD - why did you not mention table dancing at Happy Hour? Probably because I would have totally made you dance on the table at Waterloo. Hilarious.

Why is Michael going to San Angelo!? That's where I grew up! I still have friends there if he needs someone to go out with. :)

Come dance with us next time! It was fun!
Michael installing a bunch of routers in a school. He'll be back and forth for three weeks. I'll ask him if he wants to be social. Thanks!
