The Gorge, Tubing and the Stray Dog

Yesterday morning we stayed home and hung out with Marcie and Ann and watched while they and mom worked on the couch fiasco. The green marker is still prominent though many calls were made to leather stores, home insurance companies and couch dealers. My back was better but I still couldn't bend over at all and so mostly I rested.
At lunchtime, Tiffany, Keith, Kade and Dad joined us for a wonderful lunch at the Gorge. The food was delicious. I had chili dusted sweet potato fries and a fish sandwich with cider slaw. Tiff and I also had two very wonderful, very strong margaritas. We were very merry.
Marcie and Ann left us when we got back and so I went to take a nap while Michael and the boys watched Star Wars episode 1. Then Tiff and Keith and Kade and my little family put on our ski clothes and headed up to the Taos Ski Valley about 20 minutes away. We were going tubing. Sam was reluctant because he really just wanted to sled again. I promised him it was sledding on tubes.
The ski valley had beautiful snow. Michael and Tiff and Keith were just kicking themselves that they had wasted their ski day at Sipapu. Next year we're forking out the money for all day ski school for the boys at the Taos Ski Valley and letting Michael ski there.
The tubing was a big disappointment though. We spent eight dollars each to tube and then got in a line of a hundred people or so. We got to tube once in an hour. The kids loved it, but it was freezing cold by this time and pitch black outside. We called it and walked over to the Stray Dog. This was a good decision. We got a table right away. It was warm and cozy in there. The kids had hot chocolate and grilled cheese and I had this amazing bowl of beans, fritos and green and red chills. Yum.
We came home and put our exhausted children in bed. Then we went right to bed our selves and read till late in the night. It was a good day.
Today we plan to read, go see the Earthship houses and maybe check out the gorge. I want to celebrate noon year with the kids. Tonight we plan to go to the Ski Valley again and watch a torchlight parade and fireworks.
