CASA Event, Vegan Supper Club and Children's service

we had a crazy weekend. A crazy FUN weekend. Friday night we left the kids with their babysitter Anna and went to the CASA fundraiser at Dick's Classic Car garage. We had a whole table of our friends and we had a good time. I couldn't eat anything there, but I could drink and the bar was right next to our table. We were there with great friends and that made the event awesome.
Saturday we cleaned, had lunch at Casa Maria (food was good, service was lousy), and rested until the evening. We left our children again in the hands of Anna the babysitter, picked up our friends Anne and Jeff and went and had ourselves a double date. We drove up to Austin and attended the Hyden Park Supper Club. They had five courses of vegan food and all of it was tasty, though the faux cheese cake dessert was the best. Our dinner ended early because they still had another seating to do, so we drove back to San Marcos and went to sit by the fire in Palmers and have some cocktails. We had big fun that night and loved getting share stories with our friends.
Sunday morning was the Children's Service. the kids do the whole church service. Davis popped out of bed so excited and promptly changed from his pajamas into his tuxedo he wore in Ms Marchelle's wedding last year. He wanted to look sharp up there. I helped the kids practice and then sat beaming in the second row with my camera when they led the service. Davis was great up there, remembering all his lines and choreography. Sam was great too though he got slightly distracted as the service went on. All the kids were precious and the slide show with their quotes about love made me tear up.
After church we went with Anne and Jeff and their kids and Chris and his kids out for sushi. it started sleeting on our way over and the kids got all excited. We put the kids at their own table, ordered sushi and sake and had a wonderful time. Davis told me it was kind of like a fun lunch out, and kind of like a playdate. I agreed. We spent the rest of the day curled up in front of the fire.
my computer is broken and in the shop till Wednesday or Thursday so I'm typing this on my dad's iPad and I can't add pictures from the weekend. I'll work on it and try to get some up soon.
