Tuscany for TFF Meeting

For our Family Foundation meeting we all met in Tuscany. We rented a villa called Villa Angelica. We took the high speed train to Pisa from Rome where we took the PISmover to the airport from the trainstation, took a shuttle to the rental car place and got our car. Then we drove over to mom's hotel to pick her up and drive to our villa.
Our villa was in a tiny town called Fabbrica Peccioli. It was basically a village suburb of Peccioli, about 5 km away. Our villa was lovely and had gorgeous views from the pool. Tiffany and Keith and Kade met us there later that evening and our party was complete!
Here is what we did each day:
Day 1 Arrive and meet up- dinner at Pizza place in Peccioli
Day 2 Siena and San Gimignano
Day 3 Family Foundation Meeting in Fabbrica
Day 4 Pontedera and Lucca
Day 5 Volterra and Pizza Party at Agriturismo Canale in Peccioli
Day 6 Livorno, Coast Rode, Dinner in Peccioli
Day 7 Volterra and Dinner in Pecciolli, plus festival!
Day 8 Leave Villa, take train to Rome
I went into tons of detail in the book we made, but that is our trip in a nutshell. I loved riding bikes on the walls of Lucca, and shopping and exploring Volterra (Etruscan museum!)best. The kids most loved the random Ferrari's that parked in piazza in Siena. We ate my favorite meals at L'Antico Molino Restaurante and Del Duca Volterra. I also loved buying Michael a vest and two shirts in Lucca, Davis a fountain pen in Siena, Sam a catana and wallet and myself a handbag and leather jacket (thanks mom!!!!) in Volterra. The pizza party was memorable because they wouldn't stop bringing us pizza! We had to leave there was so much food, lol.
Michael made his dream come true when he visited Pontedera and went to the Vespa museum and we had amazing sandwiches at a tiny little cafe nearby.
I also loved our seafood lunch in Livorno with the Carnes in a fancy hotel we had never planned on finding.
We had an amazing chef prepared dinner at our villa with headsup before hand and a dance party after. We played cards at the table with Keith in Lucca, we bought pool floats at a roadside stand on the coast and the kids played hard in the pool. We did lots of laundry with teh best view in Tuscany. Mom did yoga everymorning on our patio. I ran in the mornings and explored new villages. A parrot came and visited us. We shopped at the little market every morning. We bought and ate all the truffles and all the wine and all the bread and all the cheese and all the pasta. It was divine.
On our last day, we drove back to Pisa, dropped Mom off at the airport, dropped off the rental car and took the train back to Rome. We spent the night at a Rome Airport Hilton with points and flew out the next morning. It was a great trip!
