RV Vacation

For Davis's spring break, we rented an RV and went on vacation. (Pictures went in from newest to oldest so make adjustments, lol).

I made a whole shutterfly book with a million pictures of this trip, but here are a few highlights. We started in Denver and drove down to Taos where we met the Perry family. After a quick chocolate shop and Seconds visit, we ordered in Toribios and chatted by the fire until bedtime.

The next day we drove to ABQ where we had a diner lunch and then kept driving through TERRIBLE wind to Sedona. We made it after dark and pulled into a campground called Verde Valley. The Riley's were there and our mountain bike family was complete.

Our first full day in Sedona was lovely. The boys went mountain bike riding and we hung out at the pool, checked out the local winery and the went on a pink jeep tour. That evening the Rileys made a great dinner for us at their rig.

The next day was cold and miserable. We spent most of our day inside the RV, but did venture out to get in the hot tub. Davis, Donovan and Alex went and road a black diamond trail which was amazing, apparently, but also terrifying. That evening I made big pots of jambalaya and we all sat down at the Riley rig around the fire and ate dinner and visited. We said goodbye to the Rileys as they were not moving on with us in the morning and went to bed early.

In the morning,we pulled out early and had a nice, easy ride down to Tucson. It was warmer and dryer there, but still not warm and still quite windy. We parked at the Uof A and walked to get lunch at Bison Witches which was amazing and the boys really enjoyed it. Then we met Alex and Aidan and I gave a quick college tour to them all. Then we drove on to the Lazy Days KOA park. We had a great spot there and the smell of orange blossoms welcomed me home. We did some laundry and let Sam scooter around while Davis and Alex went on a ride. That evening we went out to dinner at Frog n'Firken to give the kids a taste of college life.

The next day we split up and I went with Joel, Abbey and her friend Sarah to the Desert Museum while Michael and Davis, Sam, Alex and Aiden all went to the Pima Air and Space Museum. That afternoon we took our boys to get an Eegees and show them my old house and neighborhood. That evening we met Theo for dinner at El Charro and had such a good time!

When we woke up the next morning, it was time to move on again so we drove back to the desert museum for the morning so the boys could check it out and then drove back to Albuquerque. We stayed at a KOA there and got in late, after dark.

For our last day of vacation we got up early and drove our rig over to the Nuclear Science museum with the Perry fam. We toured it thoroughly and the boys all loved it. Then we drove back to Taos. We got there mid day and settled in, doing some laundry and letting the boys ride and hang out. We ordered in pizza and sat by the firepit and made s'mores. Then we all went to the front of the house and shot off some fireworks we had bought in Arizona. The kids loved it, even though it was quite cold.

The next morning it was time to drive back to Denver and real life. All in all, it was a great trip, though Michael is not sure an RV is in our permanent future, lol.
