New Orleans For Kate's Wedding

My niece, Kate, got married in New Orleans right after school was out in May. Michael and the kids and I met my mom and Paul in New Orleans to celebrate the long memorial weekend and to attend the wedding before we headed directly to Belize for our big vacation.

We flew in late Thursday night to some pretty lights.
The next morning Michael had to work, but I took the kids to do a tour of Tulane, before catching the street car to meet Mom and Paul at Superior Seafood. Michael met us for lunch and then we headed to the quarter to walk around and explore. We stopped for ice cream that afternoon on our way back to the hotel and then cleaned up for our dinner and Kate's Welcome to New Orleans cocktail party.

That evening we left the kids at the hotel with room service and we met Mom and Paul at Briquette and then headed over to the upstairs room at the upstairs parlour of Antoine's for a fabulous party!

In the morning, we had to do a quick Covid test for Sam in preparation for our trip to Belize since he had only had one vaccine so far and was not fully vaccinated.

After he got his negative result, Michael and the boys went to the WW2 Museum and I went to meet Mom and Paul on Magazine. We walked and shopped and then went to Bacchanal to see Rafael Baas play. It was so dreamy!

That evening we cleaned up and dressed up and went to Kate's wedding!!! It was so amazingly beautiful. Mom walked down the aisle as grandmother of the bride, which was such an honor. The wedding was at Immaculate Conception Jesuit Church, which was stunning. Then we took a bus around the corner to the Civic Theatre, where we second lined around the church before going in. Every detail was amazing at the wedding. They had their names on the handkerchiefs for second lining, they had hand rolled cigars with personalized match boxes on the way in, two signature cocktails, the BEST food, an incredible band, their names in lights above the stage, a fun photo booth, and light up mardi gras beads and medallions. It truly was an glorious and AMAZING wedding.

We had one last day in New Orleans after the wedding. We decided to take the kids on a Fat Tire tour of New Orleans and it was really fun. We rode all over and got a great history lesson and tour. After our tour, we ate PoBoys at Parasol's and then Michael went to grab our laundry and I took the boys to Walmart to get a yoga ball for Sam to use at the beach. Then we met at Mom's condo and did laundry while the boys took a swim.

That evening we had an early supper at Domenico's with Kurt and Germaine and Jude and Mom and Paul and the walked slowly back to our hotel, ready to pack and head out early the next morning for Belize.
