Day 3: Seattle and Cruise Departure

We woke early again on day 3 and went with Steven and Melissa and Katie and Soren back to the original Starbucks for our coffee fix. Then we headed over to the market for a very fine breakfast. I had the garden omelet with vegetables picked from the market. We had a table overlooking the water and it was nice and cool.
Then Katie and I slipped away by ourselves for about an hour and cruised the market and chatted. It was great. The market is beyond amazing and being with Katie was wonderful. I miss her already.

When we got back to the hotel, we said our good-byes and packed our suitcases. We argued a bit with our hotel about the best way to get to Pier 30 and then paid too much for a van to take us there.
We stood in line for a while and got all checked in and got on our ship! The Princess Star was beautiful and our room was great. We had a minisuite which basically means we had a bathroom with a tub, a area for our queen bed and a tiny sitting area with couch and crib almost kissing each other. We also had a little refrigerator and bar area separating the areas. Michael was excited about the two tvs.
We were greeted by Martha and Clark (my in-laws) and Marchelle, my dear friend who had agreed to come on this voyage to take care of Davis and Sammy for us. We toasted with a champagne toast and enjoyed the sail away party.

We registered Davis for his onboard "class" and let the kids play in the Fun Zone. Then we unpacked and relaxed and got ready for dinner. We put the boys down in the room and set up Marchelle with videos so she wouldn't be bored and left for our first taste of freedom on a cruise ship.
(As a side note: We have cruised before with children since my sister-in-law can help us get a good deal as she works for princess, but our children have always been too small for any of the childcare options. This has been okay, but we've never been able to take advantage of the shows, excursions and fancy dinners that are part of the cruise experience. Bringing Marchelle was going to give us that opportunity and we were SO. EXCITED.)
We had dinner with the whole family and then saw a show. It was a really great first night experience. Enjoy the pics and look forward to tomorrow, our first day at sea!
